A time to reflect... no need for me to link to articles but just one:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/norway/9217315/Anders-Behring-Breiviks-Norway-shooting-spree-relived-in-chilling-detail.html
This happened in Europe in which 69 people where killed in one shooting spree. He tells in graphic details how he shot those who even feigned death. The reason I post this obvious.. As gun control is on every one lips... I see lawlessness as the result.
I posted this exact statement on the vine:
Dr. Spin.. I appreciate you commenting on this tragedy ... I do realize when it comes to guns and gun violence, on only have to look at our gun-laws and say that is the problem... I differ in that opinion.
This man killed 69 people methodically in ONE shooting spree... not saying that your COPIOUS amount of Gun-laws is to blame but it does stand to reason that as this happened people looked and said... "What can we do to prevent this from happening."... The answer is truly nothing... safety in laws is only present when those obey them. The UK does not even have a constitution in which the people can challenge. Again I do not disparage Europe.. I love it's culture BUT it is not American.. nor should it be.!

Safety... That is what we want for our children, our families. Security is what we desire Fight or Flight is the base emotion in all of us and it doesn't matter what our background is. We want to feel safe... After the Aurora shooting... There was an outpouring of grief and ...... a spike in gun sales. The lawful always seek the protection from the lawless. Police, State, Government can only do this overtly but it depends on the citizenry to "Protect." So I turn to God... that antiquated religion called Christianity. He (Jesus) gives me peace, level headedness, and removes the desire to do violence save for self defense. I own a gun... I would never use it (by the Grace of God) except for defense, recreation, and maybe hunting yet my MAIN source of security is God.
If you notice in all the shootings (including Conn.) The Church was the first organization to reach out and connect others. Yet as many cry for gun control, I see those praying, counseling, and supporting the grieving. I see gun control advocates want to change (erase) the 2nd Amendment to put in place more laws, restrictions and yet personal responsibility is a "given". I see Clergy praying and consoling and PREACHING personal responsibility... Which do you think is more effective?
Hence my heading. I'm going to get off social media for a while.. (A week maybe) and pray and seek God. I'm going to pray for the Families and Conn. Pray that God has preserved my Job and Family to this day. Pray for the President, the Nation as well as enjoy my family, and Church. I'm also going to pray for civility in this political grandstanding that is sure to follow.
I've said in numerous places on the vine that I really believe this is a result of Prayer not allowed in school, God being a by word and Christianity being a litigation magnet. A Viner charged that the horrific deaths was because "God is a fake and if he was really powerful he would have stopped this." I answered that God has always been there and it is we who hide from God. He gave us a will and we pretty much do what we want, when we want.. We don't want God to interfere with our sin. our fun but we want God to stop Katrina, Sandy and the Connecticut shooter. Horrible, unspeakable acts have been committed in and out of religion, ALL done by man's , not God's, decision. God has been nothing but good to me.. Don't blame God for man's lack of control and lack of faith.
I like to close with 2 scriptures and this Prayer:
Lord Jesus... help our nation, save it's people. I know you will all ways have a remnant but.. I ask for more... I earnestly desire we , the USA be known as a Christian Nation once again. Let us return to our first love... You and your Word. Support the families now in this time of grief and support the Nation in it's healing. Amen.
Joh 3:16-17 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
And:
Joh 3:19-20 KJV And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (20) For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Why these to portions of scripture?... The same Jesus that said the well known, oft quoted John 3:16 is the same that says Men, not God is evil.. and all need to come to the light.
God bless.
